About
Lin Maystead (he/they) is a queer, multidisciplinary artist originally based in Lexington, Kentucky. In 2024, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from the University of Kentucky.
Lin works in the mediums of painting, fiber art, graphic design, digital illustration, and photography.
Painting
Lin's painted works mainly focus on the complex emotions of a queer identity while living in a trans body, focusing on moments of euphoria and dysphoria.

Their first solo show, "The Nuances of Queer Identity", was a part of their BFA senior exhibition.​ Since graduating, Lin has showcased their works in both central and northern Kentucky, including galleries supported by LexArts and the Lexington Art League.

Graphic Design​
Lin has used graphic design in working with the University of Kentucky's College of Fine Arts, creating graphics for the social media accounts of the college, as well as for personal flyers and designs.
​Photography
He has utilized photography to assist with painting compositions and graphic design. Recently, Lin has explored more creative types of photography such as creative portraits, nature shots and commissioned shoots.
